Small town girl workin it in the big city!
Chelsea is a theater artist and teacher in Brooklyn NY. Chelsea is in her final year of graduate school working towards a Masters in Applied Theatre at CUNY’s Professional Development Center in Manhattan. She is a lead teacher at The Bija Project a progressive arts preschool in Brooklyn where she teaches theatre and yoga. Chelsea is also a NY ambassador for the Moon Club, a network of women around the globe connecting online and in person around the moon cycles to help in personal and professional growth.
Chelsea moved to Brooklyn, NY with boom! a theatre company she helped start in Seattle, Washington after graduating from Cornish College of the Arts. With boom! Chelsea acted, produced, directed, and wrote her own work. Her play, Roar, has been in three different theater festivals in Seattle, WA, Santa Cruz, CA, and NYC.
Chelsea has been working on a new play, Hot Air Balloon Girl, and has workshopped and previewed with different companies in New York City.
Chelsea was a 2015 resident with Fresh Ground Pepper’s BRB summer retreat where she workshopped scenes of Hot Air Balloon Girl.
Scenes from Hot Air Balloon Girl were previewed with New Light Theater Projects, Dark Room Series 6, in NYC.
